Where the cameras come from

These are public government traffic cameras (California DOT to start — thousands of them, many with live video). They're meant to be public. More states are coming.

Honest note

PEEK only shows public cameras that authorities already publish. It does not access private, home, business, or security cameras — that would be illegal and wrong, and it's not something this will ever do. Camera coverage depends on where public cameras exist, so it's not every street. Feeds come straight from the DOT and can occasionally go offline.
